Saturday morning August 24 was the second day of the static judging. The judging was interupted for the opening ceremony, wich took place in cloudy but dry circumstances. The 17 teams marched in to their flags, while an F-18 Hornet and a F-5E Tiger was on static display.

After a series of speeches from IJMC chairman Winnie Ohlgart, JWM organizer Yves Burkhart, the national anthems were played and the teams inroduced.
Then some speeches of VIP guests, among which the Commander of the Swiss airforce.
Since the weather changed the schedule a lot, the PC-7 demo team did not, after take off, visit another field, but did a demo on top of Meiringen, again a very cool show.
